Our AAT programme

Our AAT programme consists of the Level 3 – Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Level 4 – Professional Diploma in Accounting.

Joining Moore Kingston Smith on our AAT apprenticeship training scheme means you will receive fantastic training that allows you to experience working in audit, accountancy and taxation for a variety of businesses across a wide range of sectors.

We are an AAT accredited training firm and we are committed to giving each person that joins us first class training in a personal and friendly working environment. You will be encouraged and supported throughout your training contract and support, and guidance and encouragement is always on hand.

What will I be doing?

Right from the start of your training contract you will be working with clients, getting to know their business and understanding their challenges. You will be encouraged to take responsibility early on in your training contract; working as part of a team you will be exposed to all aspects of a job.

Your experience will be varied; sometimes you will be working on projects lasting a few days, other times a few weeks. You could be working at a client’s office or Moore Kingston Smith’s office, working on your own or as part of a team. You will have the opportunity to work on company audits, charity audits and support our tax team. Whatever you are doing, you will always be making a direct impact on your client’s business.

As well as learning on the job, you’ll complete a comprehensive apprenticeship training programme that will equip you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to excel in the role. You will also receive paid study leave to ensure you can focus on your exams away from the office. At Moore Kingston Smith, you will get the best in-house training and have an extensive support network which includes a training manager, training partner, buddy, mentor and a dedicated Early Talent team, ensuring there is always someone to turn to.

As you come to the end of your apprenticeship you will be considered for progression to the Level 7 Apprenticeship programme. If successful, after two years on the ACA programme, you will be a fully qualified chartered accountant. There is so much opportunity to progress at Moore Kingston Smith. Many of our partners started their career here as AAT trainees and through hard work, commitment and drive have succeeded and are now part of driving our business forward.
